I've heard some people talk about natural sea sponges used like tampons, and I've been to the Sea Pearls site. It looks like something I'd really be interested in trying, but I've also seen some people say it makes them sore to remove/insert them.
Can other people who've tried the sea sponges give me some insight? Is this soreness a common thing with many women? Have people had good experiences, or have some had really bad experiences?
Since I'm in the Hut now, I figured I'd order one and try it for next month. I've never been able to use tampons, but I'd like to give the sponge a try.
Thanks!

Date: 2001-12-05 04:31 pm (UTC)I tried it once (to humor her and because I'll generally try everything once) and wasn't as thrilled about it. To me, it was a tad painful and uncomfortable. I guess it's truly an individual thing. As long as the sponges are scrupulously hygenic, I don't see any more risk with them than tampons. Also,..... I'm sure they require some hygenic efforts on the users part. Hope you get the answers you're looking for!
