hey guys,
i am freaking out right now. my ex-boyfriend fingered me last night inside. i havent had any in at least 2 weeks, so it wasnt very sensitive, and it didnt hurt at all. the only thing is that afterwards, i went to the bathroom and there was blood on the toliet paper when i wiped. there was none in my urine and the stuff on the tissue was watery blood, kind of like kool aid consistency--not bloody blood. it cant be my period, cause that ended a couple of weeks ago. but it lasted all throught the night, and there was some on my underwear this morning -- again, not thick, but still blood. just now, i went to the bathroom and when i wiped, there was this mucus on the paper when i wiped, and it was clear with a little brownish tint to it. i have no idea what to do, and i have never been to the gyno cause i am afraid, but could this have been my hymen? i am 21 and am a virgin (*technically*) 'cause i have never had anything but fingers inside me. thanks guys, i am so afraid....its finals week so i cant go to a gyno until friday maybe. please help me. thanks...xoxo - Alexia

are you on the pill? if you are, some break-through bleeding can happen... and it can happen at times where it makes you worried it's something else :) (did to me...)

if not... it's possible he might have scratched you in there. if it's a little scratch, or far in, you might well have not even felt it... the skin's pretty thin sometimes (at least mine is) and that would lead to a little blood.

since it was just a bit of blood and lasted less than a day..... frankly, i'd make a mental note of it, wait and see if there are any more symptoms (if it comes back, if you get bad cramping for no reason or a funny discharge or if you start running an unexplained fever) and if not, just chalk it up to random spotting--that can happen to anyone. *shrug* if it worries you, though, or if other odd stuff happens, i'd see a doc, yes.

(ps--you might want to anyhow, i don't know. i just know that i wouldn't for just a little spotting.. but that may mean i'm dumb. yes, that was a disclaimer :)

probly your hymen, hon... your story sounds almost exactly like what happened when mine broke... so take a deep breath, it's gonna be okay ::hug::
i'm sure it's not anything to worry about, unless it happens again, in which case you should get to a gyno... in the meantime, call the nurse at whatever medical facility you may have at your school (if you have one, otherwise call your dr's office or something along those lines) and tell her/him/them what you told us, if you'd like some medical reassurance...

No kidding. Mine was quite stubborn; my gyno didn't see any way other than surgery to rid me of it. So, I lost my virginity to a scalpel.
Just thought I'd share. *laughs*

nah... if you've never had more than fingers in there, it doesn't matter how old you are.

First of all... Relax!! Take a breath.... :)

The bloody show you had was most likely from abrasions inside your vagina (most likely the cervix). There are times of the month when your cervix becomes engorged with blood... just because of hormonal changes related to ovulation. You also mentioned that the blood was mixed with "watery" discharge...this would also go along with the assumption that you are approaching ovulation. Anyway... the cervix and surrounding tissues can bleed (slightly) if it gets irritated of scratched (this is why some women experience scant bleeding after pelvic exams).

That said... if the bloody show continues or worsens...call your general physician and ask his/her opinion. They may want to see you, or they may just get a more detailed history.
Could it have been your hymen?? Possibly. If it was, your bleeding should disappear fairly quickly.
One note: make sure your boyfriend washes his hands thouroughly before "fingering" you. Especially in the next few days... since you've had some bleeding, you obviously have an "open wound" so to speak. You don't want to get infections. Also, it's just good practice to have him wash anyway...it's amazing the stuff we carry around on our hands!! :) Hang in there... if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!! :)

I've actually had this happen to me, the thin watery blood thing after fingering. Upon further examination of the boyfriend's hands I usually discovered an untrimmed and rough finger nail or a hangnail which is what I usually chalked it up to.

i'm going to be the mother hen here and say that you should go and see a gyno. not just because of the bleeding, but because you should anyway. there isn't anything to be scared of. i probably would have been very afraid to go to the gyno too. but my normal doctor (who i love and trust completely, which made it all the better) did my exam during a physical. she talked me through the whole thing, telling me what she was going to be before she did it. there really isn't anything to be afraid of. its not that bad. he or she will check your breasts for lumps, and then do the pelvic. if you relax and take deep breathes it shouldn't hurt. they'll use the smallest speculum too. some people have horror stories, but don't let them frighten you into not going.
Good luck!

It's good advice. :) We need to take care of our coochies and other parts, so that they take care of us.
