i was just wondering... does anyone have any good tips for cramps? i get them about every three cycles, and when i get then i get them bad. yesterday they were so bad i could barely walk/stand/think. today i had to skip french class and lie down in the clinic. i'm not sure if my problems today were directly from the cramps, or if they were worse becaue my liver was trying to handle the massive amounts of tylenol/midol/ibprofen/aleve i had taken...

Advil and Aleve are safer to max out on than Tylenol, in general.

Date: 2001-12-13 08:09 pm (UTC)we tried naproxyn or something like that naprosyn, naproxen.. as a painkiller for awhile but it really didnt help, i was staying home from school/work one day a month and feeling generally miserable for 2-3 days each month.
so i went on the pill. it actually helped a lot.
i still have my pain pills, but i dont need them as often.
its so much nicer.
i hate having to take a pill every day but it works out in the long run...

Date: 2001-12-14 09:43 am (UTC)I'm also on (as well as ibuprofen and the Pill) bentyl, which is a smooth-muscle anti-spasmodic (not OTC)... it's usually prescribed for the intestinal system, but it helps cramping too. (though the pills are as bitter as all hell)... you might bring it up with your doc.
g'luck!
