comes on for about 24 hours just prior to my period. Crying jags, everything looking bleak and hopeless, undirected fury and rage, you name it. It's gone by the next day, and is clearly biochemical in origin.

This is the third or fourth month this has happened. All the rest of my life my period has been very regular and uneventful: mild crampiness, but no noticeable mood change.
Suddenly, at 36, this crap starts?! If I'm going to get adolescent mood swings, I want my 16 year old body back too, dammit.

I had only physical PMS, no emotional, until my thirties. Then the emotional stuff hit.

Sex has gotten nothing but better, though.

ever since the day I started my period from the nice ripe age of 11, I have had the emotional problems, but for me its a week before, and I cry if I drop a peice of paper, I yell at my parents simply because I run out of shampoo etc, Its horrible, but my Fiance seems to not notice it, which is kinda scary lol

I'm 33, I've been bleeding since I was 10 1/2 (a trauma in itself) and I still haven't figured it out. My cramps have gotten less severe as I've gotten older, and my period is considerably lighter (because of Mircette, thank you very much) but the wild mood swings haven't changed. The only difference now is that I'm old enough to say, "Okay, the reason why I want to throw myself off the building is because of PMS and NOT that I'm really suicidal...) I've heard that you should take B12 and some other herb like rose petals or some shit, but I guess I'm too jaded to buy it at this point.

Just know that in a day or two it's going to pass. It will pass. And the fact that you acknowledge it is a start.

In fact, the mood swings don't bother me as much as the breakouts do. It's like, why the fuck am I paying $60 for a facial every other month if I'm still getting zits around my period like I'm a teenager.

If I'm going to get zits like a 16-year-old, I want my 16-year-old body back too! :-)

I am horrible about taking my viatamin suppliment, but if I forget right before or during my period, my moodiness and tearfulness are much, much worse.
