vicious depression
Dec. 29th, 2001 05:34 pmcomes on for about 24 hours just prior to my period. Crying jags, everything looking bleak and hopeless, undirected fury and rage, you name it. It's gone by the next day, and is clearly biochemical in origin.
This is the third or fourth month this has happened. All the rest of my life my period has been very regular and uneventful: mild crampiness, but no noticeable mood change.
Suddenly, at 36, this crap starts?! If I'm going to get adolescent mood swings, I want my 16 year old body back too, dammit.

Date: 2001-12-30 01:14 am (UTC)Just know that in a day or two it's going to pass. It will pass. And the fact that you acknowledge it is a start.
In fact, the mood swings don't bother me as much as the breakouts do. It's like, why the fuck am I paying $60 for a facial every other month if I'm still getting zits around my period like I'm a teenager.
If I'm going to get zits like a 16-year-old, I want my 16-year-old body back too! :-)
