Instead VS. The Keeper
Jan. 2nd, 2002 10:49 pmI was thinking about starting to use "Instead" menstrual cup or The Keeper Which is better? And can anyone tell me, if they've used it what they though of it, and any negatives aspects with it.
ie. discomfort, insertion troubles, smell, or just a general ickness overall with either product.
also is "Instead" (since they're dispoable) enviromentally friendly?

If you're going to try it, I'd reccomend scheduling it so you'll be at home the first few times you change it. Might also combine it with a pad until you get the hang of how to position it right and how long you can go between changes.
I've heard a lot of people say that they disinfect Instead cups and use them over again. This would lessen the environmental/cost impact.
If I remember right, if The Keeper works for people, they generally like it better than Instead, but it doesn't work for everyone.
i luv my keeper

Date: 2002-01-04 08:45 pm (UTC)it lasts for ten years.
it's easy to insert, though i'll admit.. it *can* be intimidating when you first look at it. it takes practice and patience.
i've never used instead so i can't say much about it.. other than it seems like a huge waste to have them be disposable. the keeper is much more environmentally sound.
oh! and you can't even feel the keeper when you sit down - it's flexible and it moves with you.
