Acidophilus rocks!
Jan. 2nd, 2002 09:30 pmMany thanks to the person who posted the acidophilus tabs up the yaa-yaa (my fave term for it...) as a cure for yeast infections. I was not hip to that and I have to say I do believe I've been liberated. Liberated! Between the pill and antibiotics from a throat infection, I got on the yeast train around August 2001 and didn't get off until I tried the acidophilus thing last week. Quick, easy, inexpensive and, so far, effective. Thanks again.

Date: 2002-01-02 11:40 pm (UTC)what got me to seek natural medicine stuff is a messed up menstrual cycle. i had always been regular, but then suddenly it was 5 weeks, then 6, then 7, and then it was 9 weeks and i still hadn't bled. all the pregnancy tests came out negative, so i was really freaking out about what might be wrong. to this day, i haven't gotten a really good answer. i finally induced my period with parsely tea, which worked after 5 cups. imagine my surprise that i could *gasp* actually control this thing that i had always just had to wait for?
right at the same time, i was changing a lot of other things in my life that also cured the weird cycles. i went on a low-carb diet for weight loss (i've lost more than 50 pounds in a year, go me!), started drinking 1-3 liters of water a day, started excersizing (however the hell you spell that), and bought the awesome books on women's reproductive health from the feminist women's health centers. it combined to make me a lot healthier than i have been pretty much at any point previously in my life. now when i have a problem, the first thing i do is search the web for natural remedies.
