I started drinking parsley tea because I read on here that it helps move things along when your waiting.
How long and how often am I supposed to drink it?
I remembered not to add boiling hot water to it and suprizingly the taste wasnt that bad... kinda like grass or hay.

Would just eating the parsley work?

Drink three cups a day until you bleed, but don't do it for more than three days. If it's that long and you're not bleeding already, you should see a doctor. As a hint, though, I've never had to go more than a day and a half (5 cups) before I start bleeding, so it usually works pretty quickly.

In response to someone else, you use regular dried parsely flakes that you would find in the grocery store spice aisle, do not use cilantro or fresh parsely for tea.

In response to someone else, I don't know that eating the fresh parsely would work. You'd have to eat a lot of it, I'd imagine. I know what you need out of it is some kind of basicly essential oil that's in it, so I guess dried parsely concentrates that more, and then hot water brings it to the surface. That's why what I've read (and passed on) says not to use boiling water, because it destroyes the oil that is what makes you bleed.

And yeah, the taste is surprisingly not bad. I mean, I was really surprised. It doesn't really taste like parsely at all. And, you can add milk, honey, and/or lemon to make it taste better. It's never something you'd drink for fun, but it's far better than less useful things like, say, mouthwash.

Before reading my favorites I posted an entry here that you JUST answered :) Thank you :) Now I remember. How much dried parsley do you ad to a cup of water?

About a tablespoon of dried parsely to a standard mug size of water (1-2 cups). Let it steep for about 10 minutes.

If you're sensitive to smell and don't drink much of anything else that day, you'll notice by the end of the day that your urine will start to smell a little like the parsely tea.

Oh yeah forgot to ask. Will this result in a full blown normal period or "spotting"?

full blown normal period. the only thing that's different than a regular period for me is that when i normally start, the first day it's sort of brown-colored before it's bright red, whereas using the tea it starts out bright red to begin with. the cramps are no better or worse in my experience. it lasts the same ammount of time as a normal period.

Sorry for all the questions :) but this is the last I promise :) You stop drinking the tea once the period starts? I'm assuming that you don't continue drinking it.

the fresh parsley does work, and I use it in a salad... tastes nice and fresh... but I meant to add... do be careful, parsley is a diuretic and can cause dehydration if you aren't careful... also can cause loss of potasium.

Herbal Healing for Women By: Rosemary Gladstar

They have a tea receipe that works great for me..

"Bringing on the Moon Tea"

2 parts pennyroyal herb 1/2 part yarrow
2 parts peppermint 1/2 part mugwort
1 part ginger

To Make:
Use 4-6 tablespoons of herb mixture per quart of water. Place herbs in cold water and bring
slowly to a simmer over low heat. Keep covered tightly. Take off the heat immediately and allow to steep for 20 minutes. Strain.

(It also seems to help me if I hang out with friends that are having their cycle at the time I wish to set mine with..)

Hope this was helpful.
