Spotting

I recently started spotting. I had my period about 3 weeks ago, and I've started spotting. VERY tiny amounts of blood before I go potty every few days for the past week. I'm a little freaked out this, its never happened before. Do I need to go get checked out? Is this normal? Help.

1. are you on the pill? that can cause spotting sometimes, it's just begun to (past 3 mos) for me. sometimes switching which pill can cause it to stop; if it worries you or gets worse, talk to your doc about doing that. 2. if not (or even if you are), have you been stressed, changed your diet/excercise/sleep patterns, or anything like that? anything like that can cause spotting. (isn't it wonderful how sensitive the body is? well, maybe sometimes not... :) 3. IF it continues, or gets heavier, or repeats next month, or if you're worried basically, you might get it checked out... i know chlamidia and gonorrhea (sp? on both) can sometimes cause spotting (though my gyno told me, when i saw her, that spotting alone is not often caused by them) and some other conditions can. Otherwise, it probably isn't anything to worry about!

(PS--have you had sex, or had fingers inside yourself, recently? sometimes little scratches can occucr that can cause that too!)
