well i just started depovara. my last period was 11 weeks. then i got my 2nd shot and it stopped.
then my last one was 3 weeks. i got my third shot last week.
the gyno said it should be regular now. that my body was just confused with the medicine.

How come your periods are so long?
Mine have got longer since having an IUD, the longest so far has been 12 days. But it's settling down to around 7/8 days now.

first time user of DEPOVARA. it should be regulated now i've had my thierd shot. it is going down. my last one was 11 weeks. so slowly she is leaving sooner and sooner

so how do periods work with depo provera? Do you have periods while it's working? or do they stop until the shot wears off?

p.s. 11 week period yeeeks! hope your iron intake can keep up with that.

yeah and i'm vegan and sooo big worry there. but i got blood work done and i'm fine.
well honestly i want off the depovara. i've heard some bad stories of it messing up someones ovaries.
the shot is just suppose to regulate it.i don't know exactly how it works. i know about a day after i got the shot when i was having fun with my 11 week period it stopped.
but this last time my period was gone by the day of the shot.

so i'm gonna get it in another 3 months and we will see if my period is regulated and if i can get off of it. for one i sdon't like puttin chemicals inside of me.

yeah, I'd be worried about depo too, I've read some bad things about it, mainly that it can lower levels of seratonin in the brain (for this reason it's not recomended for anyone who's suffered from depression, at least that's the case in England). Although I'm sure plenty of women have no problems with it at all.
Ever considered an IUD? They can be a bit troublesome at first, but once the "teething problems" are over I think it's well worth it considering it provides contraception for up to 10 years.

hmm well i have been hearing some bad things about depovara.
and the contraception thing doesnt' do much for me i'm gay. so not needed. but ahh i just want to go back to being me with no shots no chemicals running in my body confusing it.

I used to get long, frighteningly heavy periods (two weeks on, two days off, two weeks on). I went on the pill for a couple of years and recently came off it. My life is changed forever. No daily medication, and no daily bloodbath!

I love my pill. I've had three trauma-free months so far, and counting...
