well my doc says that the sporatic, lengthy periods ARE side effects from the pill. and so are the horrific cramps. so she prescribed me MORE medicine to take. its like aleve only much MUCH stronger. i'm gunna be popping pills like an addict... ugh. vitamins, bc, painkillers, whats next?
so, my next question is, when does all this madness stop? like, how long after beginning taking the pill does the wacky hormone stuff and nausea end? i've heard it only takes 2 weeks, but i've past 2 weeks. i've heard a month, and i'm coming up on that this sunday. now i'm hearing 2 MONTHS. this isnt sounding good. help?

Date: 2002-01-23 09:48 am (UTC)the "standard" answer i've gotten for "how long does it take to adjust" is up to three months.. i only got mild "bad" side effects (morning nausea) and that's about how long that took to fade. (i chewed on ginger like a ginger-addicted beaver... yum. not.) hopefully if they're real bad and you stay on that pill, they go away soon!

Date: 2002-01-23 12:40 pm (UTC)for the puking i drink lots of ginger tea and eat rice noodles. it settles my stomach right away but this morning i took my pill again and i felt pukey. i'll just wait out the next month or two eating rice noodles and drinking tea. the ginger tea isnt so bad tho, i kinda like it. its spicy, and it warms you up in the cold weather. lol, i dunno about CHEWING ginger... that does sound gross!
