Doctor's visit

I paid a visit to the gyno today....normal pap and stuff.

She put me on a new pill (since my sex drive SUCKED on Ortho-Cyclen), called Alesse. Anyone heard of it?

I also got the "go head" to skip placebo pills and keep straight on the hormone pills, under the condition I allowed myself to have a period every three months.

My blood pressure was sort of high, so I have to go back in two months.

I have no insurance, so she let ME name my price for the visit, saying she didn't want money to be a reason I don't go to the gynocologist regularly.


Anyway, I just wanted to hear some opinions/experiences with Alesse. I start on it tomrrow, first time skipping placebos.

i was on ortho-tricyclen for about a year when i was switched to alesse. i stayed really sick on it. felt faint queasy stomach. im sure the side effects go away with time but i didnt want to deal with them, so they switched me back. good luck :)

This is so cool. It'd be great if more doctors would do stuff like that. I have insurance, so I always go.. but apparently my sister doesn't. She also has insurance, but apparently it doesnt work like mine. (Yeah, I need to talk to her about that :)

I'm on Orthotricyclen, and my sex drive sucks. That's the only problem I've had with it, but it's a big deal. So please write an update once you've been on it a while... thanks.

Uhh, I didn't know ortho-tri messed with your sex drive. I was on ortho-tri long before I was ever sexually active and then I got married. I was on it for 5 years non-stop (only three of which I wasn't a virgin). You know when I got married I hated sex- seriously I was married for two years and we might have done the deed about 10 times. Thats why I'm now divorced. Oh damn........I wonder if I could blame ortho for that.

Read her post more carefully. She said Ortho-cyclen. Not the same as Ortho-tricyclen.

That's not to say that was your problem, but she's not talking about the same BC pill.

I doubt you could blame ortho for a divorce. Have you ever been off it to find out if your sex drive went back up? I know mine plummeted while on ortho-tricylen, and came back up most of the way when I switched to the mini-pill. It's still not where it was, though (sigh).

Haha your right it was a pathetic attempt however I'm sure the marriage would have lasted a little longer if the drive was there. I went off the pill during the divorce so I uhh just unjustly blamed it on him. :)
