So okay my boss just gave me this really huge job to do, and as soon as he was done explaining I got this searing pain in my abdomen and I caught it just in time for it to make its mark . . . but of course there were no tampons or pads in the machine!~ So I went to the next building . . . no pads, only a mini junior tampon but I was desperate!

I hate when I ruin new panties ;.;

Also, I'm really nervous about making a gyno appointment . . . my first one. Mum says he's an old fart, very gentle and it'll be fine but I find myself putting the thing off . . . and I'm almost 20 and that is very very bad! I'm very into being healthy and stuff and I need to get screen for stuff like cancer and it would be a good idea to start keeping track of my periods and even start birth control eventually.

You don't need to start birth control pills ever, and if you choose them for birth control, you don't need to start them unless you're having PIV intercourse regularly enough to make it worthwhile. But it's a good idea to discuss your birth control options with a practitioner who's tactful, open-minded, and is aware of the variety of options, and the benefits and risks associated with each. And even old farts can be that.

But you're right, you should have at least one exam by now for an intial pap and visual screening. :) They aren't so bad, really. I think I've had about 20 by now.

True, I don't like the idea of birth control, especially since I'm not trying to protect myself from babies, but I tend to have such heavy, painful periods and I want to discuss my option with my gyno so I can make them more bearable.

there are plenty of female gynos out there, if that would make you feel better... and I have never taken on a new doctor without a non-exam appointment to meet him or her. Most of them were very nice, and in the end I sometimes even went ahead and had an exam while I was there after meeting the doctor.

I figure whatever is good enough for my mother (and my mother should be able to spot a freak by now, since her very first gyno was sued by many for his misbehaviours) but it's not the appointment as much as the MEANING of the appointment . . . that I'm an adult . . . VERY stupid and unhealthy and I need to get over that and get checked out!
