Hello all. This is my first post here.

I have really really severe cramps. I am now on Loestren and Naproxen for them. I have just been switched from Demulen because it didn't work at all for me. I an concerned that Loestren won't work either, as is the doctor I am going to, and she is considering making me miss my period all together first by making skip the sugar pill we and just start up new pack. If I respond well to that then she would put me on the shot. That is an interesting idea but are there any major side effects you guys know about? Has it worked well for any of you?

I read about this (in fact i just mentioned it in a reply) and asked 2 of my gynos. They both said that it's totally fine as long as it's not for more than 3 (as in, skip 3 periods, have a 4th). I did this for my full 2nd year of being on The Pill and i LOVED IT. 3 periods a year means less $$ spent on tampons and pads. That's just me. Also, doing it this way, it lessened my moodiness/crabbiness and i lost weight easier.
Personally, i'd stay away from the shot. There's a chance you could bleed for 3 months straight. Just keep taking the pill and skipping your period. If it works stick with it. The nice thing with the pill, is you can only take 2-4 sugar pills instead of all 7, to keep it short and sweet.
