Try hot water soaks, and heating pads (not in the tub! ;) ), and for meds next time, try Aleve instead of Tylenol. It's a miracle drug for some people.

heating pads and/or warm baths help me
my doctor prescribed naproxen sodium which is kind of like extra-strength aleve i think, which helps to alleviate the pain some.
what has *really* worked for me is being on birth control pills. I was on them before when i was about 15 to 16 for about 6 months and they really helped with the pain and also so i would know when my period would start, i could start taking pain killers the night before to sort of head it off.
i went off the pill & it stayed really good for awhile, but recently horrible cramps came back and so I went back on the pill this past summer, i am 19 now, so it took awhile for the bad cramps to come back :o) They're better again now.
Also sometimes light exercise works if you are up to it, i try to go for a swim if i can the warm water in the pool plus the movement really helps.
but mostly its nice to curl up in bed with a good book & my heating pad & be miserable :o)
I don't know if any of that helps you - but good luck trying to find something that helps!

in the absence of a real heating pad, get a towel wet [with hot water]. ring it out so that it is slightly more wet than damp but not dripping. fold it nicely. put it in a plastic grocery store type bag & microwave it. not for very long, do it in 10-second bits until its as warm as you want it, depending on the size of the towel for how long it takes.
that will stay warm for a little while at least, and you can re-fold the towel a couple of times to take full advantage of it.
its not ideal but it works :o)

mine are bad for a couple days.

and by bad, i mean i throw up, and am pretty much immobile. (and yet i *still* go to work..) i should try a doctor, but eh.

anyways.

i have this wonderful "women's cycle" tea that helps a little.

also, i take 2 advil liquigels and 2 orudis KT. and heating pads and hot baths.

and if all else fails, try a couple shots of tequilla(had to employ once while at my best[male] friends apartment...boys dont keep aspirin around)
