i'm going through my bio book looking for photosynthesis, and i pass by this page with fetus development in a woman's body. so i look at it...and my goodness, the bladder and rectum get smushed so much, like a flattened straw or something...and all the organs get pushed up into the chest area....i already knew that happened and all...but looking at it....its like...ow....eek.....pregnancy = scary

Heh. I just got an ultrasound last week in the hospital (why am I still in this group if I am pregnant? LOL) and yes, everything was smushed under my breasts. They were waving the lil ultrasound wand around under my boobs and saying 'there is your gall bladder, and that SQUISHED thing over there is your kidney, and look, on this side is your OTHER squished kidney. . ."

Oh BOY was that fun.

It can be worth it, but I dont think some women realise what the hell they are getting into, physically, with the whole pregnancy thing. (Also has to do with why I am pro choice. No one should be made to do this. Ranted about it in my LJ. . .)

your absolutely right, thats why I am pro choice too. Its such a major thing for the body to go through, I think its more of a crime to make a woman go through with it against her will than it is to terminate an embryo. I live in an area where there is a lot of teenage pregnancy, and I don't know how these girls (some as young as 14) take it so lightly. They're either very brave or very uninformed.

pregnancy = scary

I know! thats why I'm waiting a few years. I think one of my biggest fears is getting pregnant by accident, hence IUD :)

it can be scary, but at least our bodies are made for it... our organs squish pretty good :) The only things it really does: Much more prone to being effected by gall stones and having to pee ALL THE TIME!!!!

tee hee...

I haven't minded being pregnant either time, for the most part :)

Compared to corsetry, though, it's pretty mild... Be grateful we no longer have to wear corsets through pregnancy; I'm surprised anyone survived it!

corsets during pregnancy = insane!

Corsets were pretty insane anyway, no wonder women used to faint all the time!
