Yep! Hate it. Would be hard to tell if I was pregnant though, I suppose, but it is painful, annoying, an inconvenience.

nah, because it doesn't seem like a dirty mess to me, just something natural. losing my period though, that would seem ... freaky. I would rather have my uterus lining clear itself out now and then, thanks ....

skip them? No... I don't think my body would feel right without the cleansing... I am prone to yeast infections, and my period keeps everything balanced and better down yonder ;) Plus, I would always be paranoid that I was pregnant!!! heh heh heh

I wish menstruation had a switch or something. I don't want kids right now, so, why menstruate? I wish I could turn it on when I wanted it and turn it off when I didn't need it.

NO WAY!! I love my period, its all natural and if I didnt get it my body would feel wrong and just un-natural, I don't see menstuation as a curse, its a part of womanhood, and when my daugher(s) are grown and have their first bleed, I will celebrate it with them. Society makes us think that our period is a dirty unclean thing that should be kept secret. Which it shouldn't be, I think it should be rejoiced and celebreated, its a coming of age for women. And it certainly shouldn't be something we should be emmbaressed about as women. I embrace myself during my period, I treat myself and have my own little self celebration. I think if I treat my body right and accept what happens in itnaturally, then it will love me back and hopefully not give me any nasty things like yeasties hehe

Yes. I'd save money on pads (and keep the environment cleaner), plus I never want to use my reproductive system, so the whole thing seems a waste of time.

Definitely not for me. I am always behind on laundry because we have one very small-capacity machine and no dryer. There are always wet things hanging off my radiators, and because it's so cold & damp here, sometimes things take several days to get dry. I just couldn't face it.

If losing my periods wouldn't fuck my body over in other ways, then probably yeah. I don't think of my period as "unclean", I don't suffer terribly from PMS or cramps... but on the other hand, I don't think of it as a deeply symbolic religious experience or anything, either. The thrill was gone by the third mense. Nowadays it's just a hassle which means extra laundry.

Speaking as someone who isn't currently getting her period involuntarily, I'd say NO. My periods were never heavy, so that's not an issue. I dislike the fact that having children in the future may be more difficult for me because of this.. I have two, but would like to have one or two more at some point.

If you'd have asked me that question when I was around 14 or 15, I would have said yes...I used to be a very heavy bleeder (menarche for me lasted 16 days, and my periods averaged about 9 days after that), but nowadays, I would say no. Maybe I'd feel differently if my periods were worse than they are, because now they only last five or seven days and I barely have cramps or heavy bleeding anymore. Even when they were bad, I still found a certain comfort in my cycle...for a while a couple years ago, I was bleeding about once almost every two months, and I went on the Pill for a year to reestablish a regular cycle. It was nice having it like clockwork, light, and totally predictable with no pain, but I became terribly depressed and weepy that year, and it was very hard to cope with trying to plan my wedding...I just didn't have the edge I needed to stand up for myself. And I did not like the constant water retention of a state of false pregnancy that the Pill invokes. That said, I definitely prefer having my cycle and being in touch with this primal part of myself...and also, like other women have mentioned, I do like that 'purged' feeling that goes along with it, if that makes any sense.

You bet. In a heartbeat, if there weren't any side-effects. Mine have never been bad, just annoying irregular; but why have them at all if I don't need to? I don't get much out of the "femininity" or "being in touch with the moon" or "woman time" arguments. It's just blood, and it's just annoying (and stinky).

it's not the menstruation that bothers me, it's the horrible terrible no-good very bad pain that goes with it...
