it hasn't yet. i'm pretty careful, and i don't think i'm very fertile to begin with. it's not like i had ten of them so yay another month without having to do it again. if that's how it came off, sorry about that, i didn't mean it like that. it's just that abortion is the other option to bleeding generally (that or another ultrasound to see if i have ovarian cysts), so i'm pretty happy when i'm bleeding and not having to freak out about either one of the other possibilities.
heh, no, that's not how i meant it at all. i can see where you'd find that sort of attitude disturbing. pro-choice as i am, i don't view abortion as any kind of viable form of casual birth control.
You know--one of the way they diagnose SOME cysts is by a blood test.
If you have PCOD/PCOS, you usually have too much testosterone.
If you are bleeding irregularly, a good bloodwork (as much as you may hate that) can really point you in the right direction. Me? I had the PCO-whatever AND a tumor on my pituitary gland. From there I was able to deal with everything better.
A friend of mine got that shot, and went over a year without getting a period. In fact, she's been off the shot for 6 months now, and STILL hasn't gotten her period (but has some ideas why she hasn't gotten it). I dont know if this is an option for you, I know people who LOATHE the shot. Its a bit of research.
I'm pregnant now, and yes, pregnant when not ready is bad, but an abortion is no picnic, either. I've had to have D&Cs for a miscarriage (which is really just bout the same thing) and not only did the procedure suck, I got a post operative infection which kept me in the hospital for a week. And unless you get the morning after pill, the OTHER pill means you get one pill to open up your cervix, and the other to bring on cramping so you pass the fetus. So you have to look for the thing, and it can hurt. So THATS no picnic, either. The best is to come up with good birth control. (Plus of course the cost of an abortion and possible complications. A week in the hospital was not cheap, especially since I had to get admitted thru the ER.)
As a pregnant person....I'm pretty happy in this state, But it's probably not for everyone. :-) Have you thought about getting on depro-provera or something like that? It usually makes periods really light or non-existant, also you definately dont have to worry about pregnancy.....I didnt like it, but I've known people who love it.
