I think I may have a UTI (or a bladder infection).

Besides having the sensation that I have to pee all the time (but nothing comes out), what are other symptoms I should look for?

I believe (in my nonmedical wisdom :) that pain on urinating is also a symptom, and if you notice puss or blood in the urine it's a really urgent thing. Also, I know that infections in that area of the body can be bad if you don't treat them--can spread to the kidneys, which is bad. I assume you're going to go to a doc and get a urinalysis to test for it? In the meantime, drink lots of water (and possibly some cranberry juice) etc... hope it gets cleared up soon!

i found some blood in my urine this morning, so i called my doctor right away.

A friend of mine actually has a chronic bladder problem that is made WORSE by things like cranberry juice. She can't eat/drink anything acidic. Keep that in mind if your doctor recommends lots of cranberry juice or other acidic drink (basically anything except water and pearjuice) and your condition seems to get worse instead of better.

I had a UTI when I was pregnant. I felt a horrible burning sensation when I peed... and I iched a lot. There was also a foul smell to my urine. I waited too long before I went to the doctor and I got really sick... I had flu-like symptoms and a high fever... not fun. if you think you have one... I'd go to the gyno soon... infections aren't the sort of thing you wanna mess with.

well i went to my doctor and sure enough i have a UTI. so i'm on some antibiotics and pain killers (that turn my pee orange). and i'm feeling a little better...although my kidney's are hurting like a bitch now. it almost feels like i have cramps. hopefully by tomorrow i'll be all cleared up.

Sounds like a sulpher drug, the worst! Hope you are feeling better soon, hang in there.
