That cold feeling....
Feb. 4th, 2002 04:03 pmI know I'm not the only woman who "gets cold easily" during before and during her period. I'm talking about that bone-chilling cold that you get, no matter how many socks or shirts you're wearing. And it usually goes away (an hour or so later) but it's usually around for a couple of days.
What I'd like to know is, what do you do to keep warm? Aside from constantly drinking tea? ;-)

So, other than dressing in multiple layers, does anyone have any suggestions for keeping warm at work during the first couple of days of your period?
Re: Cold at work?
Date: 2002-02-05 10:10 am (UTC)There are little magic-like packets that runners use to keep their hands warm you could use (wrap them in insulating cloth and put them in your shoes). Or those bun-warmers that you're supposed to microwave to "activate" and then put in a bread basket.
If you're in an cubical-office type environment, get an incandescant desk lamp if you don't already have one. The bulb gets warm, and I sometimes hold my hands a few inches away to warm my hands up. Get one with a somewhat exposed bulb, not a normal house shade.
Re: Cold at work?
Date: 2002-02-05 10:42 am (UTC)My office set up is like an open loft. No cubicles and high ceilings. There are vents that hang down, but all of our desks are along the walls and the vents are about 8-feet out from the wall. Of course, it being in the single digits outside doesn't help much either. :)
Thanks for the suggestions...I may look into those warmer things. They sound like they might work. If not, then I guess I'll just bring a throw blanket in for my own use when I get cold. :)
