Hi everyone!

Quick question-

I am technically on the 15th day of my period. Now, I have had really long cycles before (7-9 days is fairly normal for me...and I have had the occasional longer one), but this is ridiculous! I just want to know if switching between types of birth control can do this to you. I just switched from Mircette to Alesse almost a month ago. I started my period about 8 days into the new pack. I am currently into the 'green pill' week and it's still here. Now, it hasn't been heavy flow the whole time, but it isn't spotting and it's consistently there every day.
I mean, where does all of that come from? With the rate I am at I am going to dry out. ;)

When I started my first pack of pills, my period lasted about twice as long as usual (though light through the last half) and I spotted off and on through the rest of the month. I'd imagine that switching between types can do the same, as you're changing hormone levels in your body.

changing pills can mess up your cycle, but i know for a fact that continuing to take the regular pills while you're bleeding will make you bleed for a very long time. you should just stop all the pills, wait for your period to stop, and start a new pack. i learned that the hard way... after 2 straight months of bleeding.
