Ok, I was the original one who posted this remedy, and since I didn't mark my original post as a memory, I'm going to post this once as the definitive posting on parsely tea. Then I will mark it as a memory and just send y'all the url when someone new requests info.

So, parsely tea is good for inducing your period. From what I have read, it is not an abortificant, so if you're actually pregnant, this will not make you lose your pregnancy. (Not that this is a good idea to do if you're pregnant, just that if you do so before you find out you're actually pregnant, it shouldn't hurt the baby. If you are doing this and find out you're pregnant, it probably doesn't need to be said, but - stop!) Give yourself at least three weeks from your last period before you try this, because there needs to be a uterine lining to shed.

Go to the grocery store and buy dried parsely flakes, the kind they sell in the spice aisle. You'll probably also want a tea strainer, though it's not necessary.

Take about a tablespoon of dried parsely flakes, and put them in a tea bag or strainer or just the bottom of a mug. Pour hot but *not boiling* water over the parsely. Something about boiling water destroys the chemical you need for this (I don't have a better answer, that's just what I remember reading). So, now you have a big mug of hot water and parsely flakes. Let this steep 10-15 minutes before drinking. It doesn't taste too bad, but you can add honey or lemon or milk or sugar to make it taste better. In my experience, it tastes kind of like slightly peppery hay. It doesn't bother me at all, but some people really dislike it.

Drink four cups of this a day. It should work quickly, especially if it's almost time for your period to start anyways. I'd suggest not drinking sodas and coffee during this time too, but none of my books specifically mention this. Also, don't drink too much water during this time, because you don't want to flush your system too much. I remember the first time I tried it, knowing it was going to work because I could smell the change in my urine. (I know that's a little icky for some of you more squeamish ladies, but I can tell a lot about my system from the smell of my urine.)

Lastly, don't do this for more than three days. In my experience, I've never needed more than a day and a half, and if it's still not working after three days, there could be another issue that you should probably see a doctor to check for - you could be pregnant, or there could be something going on with your reproductive organs like cysts or something else.

There you go. That's all I know about parsely tea.

Thank you!!!!

I'm going to stop at the store on my way into work in the morning, and buy some flakes... I have no idea why I bought fresh, but I did. I think I read it on some site, that I can't find now.

Long long time ago I read in a newspaper article about using the microwave to dry herbs/spices quickly.

http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/hort/hil/hil-8111.html has ways of drying in microwave and oven -- maybe even a GOOD idea as it would be really fresh?

I think using 3 times the amount of a fresh herb as you would a dry works. So maybe just try 3 tablespoons of fresh.

Peppery hay, excellent way to describe the taste.

I discovered that I hate the taste of parsley, but I think I'll still give it a go next time my period is late to show up. I have dried parsley, and a parsley plant that lives by my kitchen window :)

will this work to make periods come earlier than planned? like a week earlier, for example? or is it strictly to induce a late period?

I made a tea of nearly half a jar of dried parsely to make my period come a week early. One cup at night and the next day I was bleeding. It worked fine for that. HOWEVER, it was a more... intense... period. my cramping was way worse than normal, there were more (and huge!) clots, and my mood was all whacked. basically it was a normal period cubed.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat, though. it's worth it if you're doing it so you get to have a fun weekend or if you're going on vacation or if it's gonna be prom or something.

If you dont mind my asking, did you do this in the 3rd week of your cycle, to start your regular cycle a week early? Im going away to Mexico right when my cycle is due, and want to ensure that Im timing it properly....even starting 2 months early to 'shift' it back, so to speak.

Just poking around in the menstrualhut memories and I found this. Thought you'd be interested to know that I read online that caraway seeds will also induce a period. I have not tried it (I am doing parsley right now), but maybe next time....

how did the parsley tea work for you?

I drank it for nearly four days straight, 3-4 cups per day. But it worked all right. Be sure to add a lot of sweetener, it tastes somewhat like grass.

I know this post is old but i wanted to know

you know, i couldnt tell you, I drank 2 cups and the end of my period was lighter and shorter than normal but some times that happens... I would like to think it was the tea. I'll try again next month and see.

I tried this twice now, but it didn't work either time.
I worry that I'm not doing it correctly, because it seems to be working for everyone else.. :( Any ideas?

So does it work in the same way if you use fresh parsley? Maybe if i use a bit more if its fresh?

Did you try it? Did it work?

You're probably past worrying about it now ;), but there was a link up there for a fresh-parsley tea recipe (I haven't tried it).

Question?

Hope this isn't a silly question, but I'm consuming my 1st cup of Parsley tea right now, however I'm not sure if it makes a difference whether I strain the leaves out of the tea or not? Obviously I'm not going to actually drink the leaves :) but I didn't know if this made a difference one way or the other. I'm crossing my fingers this will work to bring on an early period for me! I will be seeing my boyfriend for the 1st time in a few months in a couple of weeks!! I would be due to start my period the week we're together!

For anyone else stumbling across this discussion and wanting the answer, that answer is no. You do not have to drink the flakes, just the tea made from the flakes.

You also do not need to continue drinking the tea once your period has started.

This has been a good solution for me in the past, but just know that it isn't something you can do *every* month. It won't hurt you if you try, but you will become immune to its effects! Every few months would probably be okay, though.

Can I do it 2 months in a row?

It seems my cycle has decided to finally regulate itself and will be arriving on my wedding day in just under 2 cycles.
If I drink the tea after 3 weeks of this cycle and get my period a few days early, can I do it again next month so it comes a few days early again?
Or should I only do it this month?
Thanks

So I totally started this parsley tea thing yesterday to jumpstart my body into giving me my period. I read about it online, and it sounded like a lot of ppl had success with it. I have had a miscarriage though, about 8 weeks ago. I'm just ready for normalcy and my period will help me to feel like that. My husband and I remained abstinent at our docs request for six weeks after the miscarriage because she said theres a risk of infection, and for the last 2 weeks because I want to rule out any weirdness and get my period. So it's been eight weeks, I've done two preg tests, and no period. Yesterday, I drank four cups, and today I'm also doing four. The weird thing is, that I'm brewing it extra strong with both fresh and dried parsley and I actually LIKE the taste of it. I put one splenda per cup, and I enjoy it! lolol, maybe I was a horse in my past life. I don't know if it will work. I don't feel any cramping yet, but I feel this weird sensation at the bottom of my waist, like a numb "pelvis dropping out" kind of feeling. Omg, I hope that makes sense to someone here. Anyone have any input??

Hello everyone my name is Cindy John, i just want to share my experience and testimony here.. i was married for 7 years to my husband and all of a sudden, another woman came into the picture he started hating me and he was abusive. but i still loved him with all my heart and wanted him at all cost then he filed for divorce my whole life was turning apart and i didn't know what to do he moved out of the house and abandoned the kids that we have, so someone told me about trying spiritual means to get my husband back and introduced me to a spell caster name prophetludaspelltemple@outlook.com. so i decided to try it reluctantly. although i didn't believe in all those things then when he did the special prayers and spell, after 2 days, my husband came back and was pleading for my forgiveness that he had realized his mistakes I just couldn't believe it anyway we are back together now and we are happy in case anyone needs this man, his email address prophetludaspelltemple@outlook.com his spells is for a better life.

it really works

I was doubtful this would work for me, but desperate. We are leaving on our first cruise to central America in a week with lots of beach days, and a day before that going to Discovery Cove to swim with dolphins. I was 2 days late, and STRESSED. Did not want to have to worry about a stupid period when on vacation. I prayed and prayed to start, nada. Only cramping. So i found this parsley tea idea and gave it a shot. I used fresh parsley. I drank one weak cup, went to bed, next day noticed very very very light blood tinged toilet paper. I usually dont start this way, usually full blown. Waited a few hours, nothing, not even spotting,so i made more tea, stronger this time. Drank three cups, warm. That did it. I know it was the tea, because of the way i started. Very spotty. I dont do that. Overnight it came full blown. Thank God! I am a believer.

Test, just a test
