I was supposed to get it the other day. I may have got it. I don't know if I do for sure, though.

It's weird.

I went to Planned Parenthood on Wednesday for my annual and checkup for recovering from a yeast infection. It turned out that the nurse/aide may have misdiagnosed me -- the doctor found bacterial vaginosis during my pelvic exam. She also said there was a little blood there -- more than there would be from a cervix scrape -- so she assumed my period was just starting. Which sounded about right to me.

Since then, I've had a beige discharge, but no real blood. I usually bleed heavily the first 2-3 days, so I'm confused that there is no stain on my pads whatsoever. Just a slight beige discharge and cramping. I wonder if taking Flagyl or the infection itself is affecting my cycle...Or maybe it's that I lost 34 lbs in the past 2 months? It's hard to nail down what is causing it.

Either way, I wish I could be experiencing my usual period -- even though it causes me some grief. That way I know my body is operating normally and nothing is wrong or imagine that something more might be wrong. It's annoying.

If you are worried about it, you should contact your doctor. That way A. They know that this is happening and B. They can tell you if this is something that you should be concerned about, and possibly get you an appt if it is.

I agree with ^ ... and a phone call doesn't take too long, as well as being free.

... agreeing with the other two, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if the weight loss does have something to do with it. That's a lot at once; hope you weren't ill! (sorry, but I associate quick weight loss with my mother's hospitalizations; not a fun way to do it!) It does mean your body is adjusting, and could be influencing how you react to the hormal swings in your cycle, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if your period is "odd" (late or slow starting or whatever) for a few months, then normalizes again... but... like everyone said, if it doesn't show up soon or if you're worried, it might be useful to call your doc :)
