I haven't had my period for a while (few months, I'd say). I haven't been "sexually active" so I know that I am not pregnant...

I am almost 16..and..well, have had periods since I was 11, so nothing about "unstable" here. I am wondering if there is anyone who is having the same problem as me? I hate to say it, but Aunt Rose doesn't visit me for a few months...I get worried.

However, I must admit that I have had cramps for a few weeks now. But just cramps....and for quite a few weeks (2-4). What could be causing this? Stress?!!

Thanks...

... stress could be doing it, yes. so could any of a number of other things. have you made a sudden lifestyle change, esp. gotten very physically active and/or lost a lot of weight? have you done anything sexual with a guy that resulted in his semen or precum touching you? (you *can* get pregnant without intercourse; it's just rather rare)? Any of those could cause you to skip...

also, as long as you're an adolescent (till around 18-20) your body is still adjusting; it's not unheard of to just randomly skip a period. still, doing so repeatedly, especially if that's not "normal" for you, could mean a problem. It might be a good idea to go to a doctor; even a basic "family doctor" could do some basic tests, then either do a gynecological exam or refer you to a gynecologist if s/he thinks it's necessary. It's certainly something that is probably worth getting checked out, just for your peace of mind if nothing else. Good luck!

(pardon typos, i'm being quick here as I have homework! aaugh!)

It happens. It seems like about half of the people here are like clockwork, and half (including me) are regularly irregular.

During high school I missed periods pretty regularly, probably due to stress. It also seems to happen every winter. Often I'll get cramps for a few weeks before when it's late.

If you aren't sexually active, you probably don't have anything to worry about. Talking to a gynecologist might be a good idea, for peace of mind at least, but chances are it isn't anything serious.

Hi!

The planet has been shifting for some time now, as women we tend to match what goes on with her. Many women I know how been experiencing irregular periods do to this shift.

My advice to you would be to drink some calming tea's (catnip is good), stay away from sugars or caffeine's, drugs or alcohol when you have your period;)
And practice some sort of grounding. (being centered. Meditate)

If you want to start your period a week early (maybe you have a trip planed or something), then you might want to invest in some valerian root. It will start your period quick!

good luck
