Feb. 27th, 2002 02:25 ami'm real nervous about my health right now. i've been having my period non-stop since a few days before xmas.. i've always been irregular but this is the worst it's ever been. some days it's real heavy and other days it's just spotting but i've been bleeding for over 2 months now. this has made me real weak and i sleep on and off throughout the day. when i wake up my heart hurts like it's bruised. i'm not sure if that is because of what is going on with my period or if it's a seperate problem. i'm real concerned because there is no way i can go see a doctor right now becasue both my husband and i are unemployed and don't have any health insurance. i'm not sure what to do.

go. now. call, find the nearest one, ride the bus there, get a ride from someone, do whatever you need to do -- but bleeding for two months when that's never happened before, cannot be a sign of anything good.

Date: 2002-02-27 03:45 am (UTC)As far as your energy to do stuff, I know it's surreal, but when I actually force myself to get out of the house and do stuff, once I'm there, I get ten times more energy. When I make myself leave the house and go work out, even if I sit in the gym parking lot thinking "I don't want to do this!", by the time I'm done, I feel energized and wonderful. So, force yourself to get out. After you do it a few times, you'll really see a difference on how you feel afterwards, even if you totally didn't want to go in the beginning.
I mean, these are just basic 'getting healthy' things to do, but they do help. I had some weird menstrual issues (really long time between periods) a couple of years ago that totally resolved themselves when I changed my diet, started working out, and drank enough water.
Still, I can't emphasize enough that you should follow the other suggestions on contacting Planned Parenthood. They have low and no cost services for people who are unemployed and low-income, so you shouldn't have to sit around without medical attention.
