Menopause?

I'm taking bc pills for my PCOS. Today, I was having a hot flash, and I suddenly realized, I've been getting a lot of those lately. Could it be menopause? Wouldn't the bc pills counteract the hot flashes caused by menopause? I guess I'll have to go see my doc, but dang it.. why couldn't I have had this awareness two weeks ago, when I had my yearly apt?

How old are you? Menopause generally doesn't start until after age 45 or so, sometimes as late as 55. (Pardon me for asking. It seems like so many of the lj users are under 25, so the menopause question just took me by surprise.)

I'm 38, which would be the youngish side of menopause, but not unheard of. Menopause or not, hot flashes aren't a great thing (except that I'm always cold, so hot flashes feel good :)

What's your blood sugar like? Do you eat much sugar or other refined carbohydrates? Do you ever get really sleepy/tired for no reason? Also, any idea about your blood pressure and circulation? Those are the only things I can think of that you might want to check out (other than, of course, talkig to your doctor).
