im new. and have a semi-random question....

how many of you have have sex while youre on your period? is it messy?

cause my boifriend doesn't care about having sex while im bleeding, but im scared that we're going to make a big ole mess....

maybe im just being silly....

Depending on where you're at in your flow, yes, it can be messy. My advice: buy a black towel at some discount store, and put that under the...area of influence, shall we say. In my opinion, there's no reason to curtail good sex just because of a little blood. To be blunt, you don't have to worry over lubrication, and some men actually find it especially sexy. In addition, the best remedy for cramps...again, in my opinion...is three Aleve and at least one really great orgasm. So. Black towel and go for it. :)

My partner and I prefer to use a black REM tee-shirt :-)
It is messy... but it is SO GOOD. For me, its the very best time of the month to have sex... almost a spritual experience...

Another suggestion apart from the towels and the shower is to wear one of those "Instead" cups (maybe the Keeper, also? I don't know, haven't tried the keeper). Unless you get *really* frisky, it seems to keep most of the blood back.

my guy used to have sex w/ his ex while she was on her period..
i dont know why.. perhaps because in my family periods were a 'shameful' thing to talk about in the house... but I think I would feel self concious, unattractive, and dirty...
and how do you start it? take a tampon out and just go at it?
He says that when you are aroused the bloof flow stops.. maybe I'm paranoid to disgust him? I don't know....
It would be awesome to get over this issue but I don't think I ever can...

Personally, I'd rather not. There are some perks such as the added lubrication but I seem to get a great deal of burning and other unpleasentness that has gotten a little better but the idea still bugs me a bit.

I thought it would look like I'd slaughtered a pig on my bed but it's actually not as messy as you'd think it would be. Of course that depends on where you are in the cycle. Go out. Buy a black towel and a box of non-lotion tissues. Be careful because some fluids can look clear but still have a pinkish twing to them that can stain. A steamy after-sex shower is a great idea too.
