just wondering what guys think
Mar. 24th, 2002 12:35 amI loved that "The Man with a Positive Attitude Towards Menstruation" thing that was posted earlier, thanks for posting it.
It got me thinking, I often wonder how guys feel about menstruation, if I were a guy I'd find it kind of strange and mysterious, I'm sure I'd be a guy with a positive attitude towards it too.
I think what I don't want a guy to ever do is act like he's disgusted by it (which I would see as him being disgusted by me) so I'm happy that my b/f has a positive attitude about it. He doesn't love it or anything, but we have sex as normal and he doesn't mind having contact with my blood, he just sees it as part of me.
He hates/is afraid of blood, so for him to be positive about my period is something I really appreciate. He looks after me too because he knows I'm usually in pain, weak and tired etc.
Anyway, I'm curious to know what women here experience when it comes to the attitude of men towards their periods

Date: 2002-03-25 06:12 pm (UTC)my previous boyfriend cringed at the very mention of my (or any other woman's) period, and that bothered me immensely :| it's not like it's something we can control.
anyways... yeah. i had sex on my period for the first time this past weekend, and it was absolutely wonderful to feel that desired even at a time where i felt the least attractive/desirable/sexy/etc. it felt nice for him to accept and love every part of me, even this.

uh, what's this "if I were a guy" thing? It happens right fucking there in my body and I find it exceedingly strange and completely nonsensical.
Uh, everyone I've been with has fucked me when I'm bleeding. One boyfriend did have a problem with it at first (I was the first girl he had slept with so it was all new to him) but he got over it. With everyone else it's just one added hassle for cleanup and, like, whatever. Really, I think it bothers me a lot more than the boys I am with. I'll be all apologetic about being bleeding and they'll be like "whatever". The one thing that I am certain never to do is to have sex with someone for the first time while bleeding. I just don't want that to get in the way of what otherwise would be a really special experience - first time sex is just *the* *best*.
