I've been reading some random health information, and some of what I've come across seems to imply that a vegetarian and healthy (vs. the fast food french-fry vegetarian) diet will seriously improve pms symptoms, especially physical symptoms such as cramping. I'm not a vegetarian or vegan and that isn't an option for me at this time for reasons I won't go into here, but I'm curious - for those of you who stopped eating meat and other animal products, did you find this diet change reduced your cramps?

I was a vegetarian for awhile, way back when, and it didn't affect my menstruation one way or another.

I've noticed when I lay off the salt/sugar and fatty foods, my cramps aren't as horrifying. That's just my experience.

A lot of PMS symptoms are negatively affected by salt, sugar, and caffeine, which are found in abundance in junk food and fast food. I don't know if meat itself has negative effects.

Hmm...
Midol includes caffeine...
is that bad?

I don't think it is bad. Caffeine helps ibuprofen work better, so if there is any ibuprofen in there, the caffeine will help it.

i stopped eating meat about six months ago, and i've only had one or two days of cramps since, and they were live-able with painkillers. i used to get cramps about every three cycles.

I grew up vegetarian and I only had cramps ONCE the entire time I was in junior high and high school. After I went away to college and started eating meat I get them often. Can't deal with going back to being vegetarian though. Hate food too much to be able to deal with thinking about it that much.
