If person is/has not having sex with someone and their period has not started, can't that be a sign of stress?

I have a lot of things going on in my life right now that are causing me stress, and someone on saying that these are signs of 'anorexia', which I know they are, but I do eat and I eat a great variety of food. So, yes or no? Can stress be a factor to one's period stopping?

Stress can throw off your cycle. So can changes in diet, exercise, sleeping patterns and a lot of other thing. And I know my cycle changed days a lot for the first five or six years that I was menstruating.

I personally don't freak out if my period comes a day or two later than I expect, but my cycle is regular enough that if it's more than that, I do get concerned. My period has started four or five days later than it usually does (I'm on the Pill) and I really began to panic then.

I'm not a doctor, so this isn't medical advice here, but if one month, things don't happen according to the exact and precise schedule they usually do, and you're positive you can't be pregnant, it's probably not a full meltdown situation if things are off schedule. But if it keeps up, then you might want to check further.
