Has anyone else had this problem?

Every day since i've started taking the pill, I get sick at about 9:45am and it lasts until about 11:30am. I get nasuous, bad cramps, and it literally hurts to move. It hurts more than the cramps I get for my period which is actually why I'm taking the pill.

I know things like this are somewhat commen, but daily at a particualr time? No one told me about that. Am I werid or would this be considered semi-normal?

Also the pills make me very sleepy, and I can't conentrate. Yestreday I can't remember half the day becuase the pills made me so sleepy I just fazed everything out. Once again commen or not?

I'm not sure how common those particular side effects are. How long have you been on the pill? If this has been going on for a while, you may want to talk to your doctor about switching to a different one.

Nausea, at least, is a common side effect when you first start taking the pill. Since you take the pill at the same time every day, it makes sense that the side effects would occur at a particular time, too.

My gynecologist reccomended taking my pill at night to help avoid nausea. I don't know if that would help, considering the cramps.

welcome to morning sickness. :) when i went over-seas and experiance a 7 hour time change a few years ago, most of the girls on the trip had it. i would suggest just trying to stick it out for now. changing your pill time will quite possibly make it worse. you should probably wait till your period (or, if it's really horrible, make your period come now), then switch times when you start the new pack.

If you're not taking your pill with food or milk, you might try that-a few crackers or something may settled your stomach. I know when I switched from the brand to the generic version of my pill, I got nauseous.

I'll admit, I've never heard of the sleepy thing though.

If you take the Pill at the same time every day then it's logical that the side effects would do the same. Nausea is "normal," but if it's to a ridiculous point (which "worse than the cramps i'm trying to prevent" seems to be) then I'd recommend talking to your doctor about switching pills. Different people's bodies adjust to different types better or worse; this kind just may not be a good match for you.

IF you're also using it for birth control, though, you must not stop in the middle of the month... don't know if you are, but felt I needed to mention ;) Hope you get this straightened out and start feeling better! Also, yeah, switching (after your next placebo week) to taking it at night (if you don't already) may help, and making sure to take it with at least a large glass of water (and optimally some food) may also help...
