I'm actually getting concerned

I'm probably starting to worry prematurely, but having been through this once before, so I'm trying to get emotionally prepared I guess.

I was at the gyn a week and a half ago...she did the pap smear, and cultured for gonorrhea and chlamydia. The STD cultures came back within three days. I still haven't heard about the pap smear...and it's beginning to concern me. Last time I remember it taking this long, the smear came back abnormal and I went through a cervical biopsy and all that fun stuff...only to find out it was nothing.

It's probably nothing. I'll call this afternoon and see if test results are in...since they haven't called and told me to make a follow-up appointment, and they haven't called and said it's clear or that it's dysplasia, I'm just not going to go nuts. Yet.

Does anyone else recall how long it usually takes for pap results to come back for them?

Mine always take about 2 weeks, and in 10 years I've only had one abnormal.

Three weeks! They told me three weeks to wait for the pap test. That's just crazy. Oh well...now I can stop worrying for a while, until I actually am supposed to get the results, when I can start worrying again.

Oh man! :-O You American ladies are so lucky. Over here we have to wait 12, yes that's right 12 weeks for the results of a smear. I had one in the middle of March and still no results yet. They sure like to make you sweat.
