[identity profile] venusflesh.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] menstrualhut
Hey everyone...I'm new to this community. :) I asked this in [livejournal.com profile] vaginapagina last week, and was just wondering if you guys had any advice as well. Here goes. :)

I have something I've been wondering about. Okay, I am going to be visiting my girlfriend, who I haven't seen in 8 months, on June 26th. I'm flying out to Philly from California where I live to be with her for 2 weeks! I'm so incredibly psyched!! This is the thing, though- I am due to get my period anywhere from the 22nd to the 25th, around there sometime. We are going to be staying in NYC for the gay pride festivities that weekend, and I am going to be so devastated if I'm on my period while we have a hotel room all to ourselves, if you get my drift, lol. So, I am asking you all: Is there anything I can do at all to help my period come earlier?? Even a couple of days would be great... I know there probably isn't anything to make it come earlier without a doubt, but anything that might help would be awesome. Not to delay it, but to make it come earlier. If I have my period when I'm with her that weekend, I am going to DIE! Aaaaaaah!

Any help is GREATLY appreciated! :)

or you could just go get the morning after pill. some people get a little sick on it, but it starts your period right then and there.

You just tell a walk-in doctor that a condom broke and they will write it for you no problem - I've used it twice and both times have not felt ill at all. It was also cheap, like 10$ for the dosage.

It's an extreme notion, and i'm not necessarily advocating it, but it *would* work.

But also don't be shy to have sex on your period. Menstrual sex is great.

Well, there's really no reason not to. True, your partner may not go for it, and because your discharge now includes some blood there is a higher risk of STD transmission, but having oral sex while menstruating is a normal and healthy thing that many people enjoy. If your partner does not want contact with your menstrual fluid for asthetic or risk reduction reasons, you can always use a dental dam or a piece of plastic wrap.
