has anyone here ever used a menstrual sponge? i got one at the health food store to try out, i have read that some people tie a string to it to make it easier to get out, but some people don't, any advice? opinions? my flow tends to be sorta light and it makes tampons hard to use, and i don't like the idea of having rubber or plastic inside of me, normally i use cloth pads and sometimes disposable organic cotton pads but when i ride my bike it would be nice to have something els

i use the sponges all the time (have one in now) and I've never bothered putting a string on it.

Sponges work wonderfully! I've never had any trouble inserting or removing it without a string.
