Jul. 4th, 2002 10:24 amWell. I have been on the pill for almost 2 years. I was on Alesse, and lately my period has been all screwy, and I've been having breakthrough bleeding the week before I should be getting my period.
My doc says it's because my progesteron (sp??) levels must be off a little, so he is switching my pill to Marvelon.
Has anyone else had to switch? did you notice any annoying side effects? and is anyone here on Marvelon? and how do you like it?
thanks in advance, I know it's a lot of questions...

Date: 2002-07-04 07:57 am (UTC)My new health insurance didn't have Lo-Ovral on it's fomulary, so the NP switched me to Levlen. It's got slightly less progestrone in it, but the same amount of estrogen. The switch went very smoothly; no really awful side effects...my period last month was actually lighter than it had been. I'm not sure if that's the fact that I'm sick or if that's the new pill or what, but we'll see in about two weeks when I get another period.

If I'm just switching, should I be worried about anything else, birth control related?

And knowing that right now because my cycle is screwy, I'm not necessarily getting the right protection I should be.
