I've read a lot here about women who are on oral contraceptives and have experienced loss of sex drive. I have changed pills three times and my lack of sex drive is starting to have negative affects on my relationship.

Has anyone who's experienced this pill side affect done anything about it other than stopping the pill? I've seen these supplements sold but they all seem like a lot of hooey to me.

Beyond 'keep swapping until you find a formulation you're ok with' (but for how long?) and 'stop the pill' (and then what?), I can't think of much.

It happened with a girlf of mine. She needed the pill to deal with her awful cramps (which it did, hooray!) but it also reduced her libido severely (boo!)

It's a pain, but I say keep swapping. It sounds like there are a ton of different pills out there, so hopefully you can find one that works better. Switching definitely improved my sex drive, which was my most annoying side effect when I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen. Now I'm on Nordette.

I'm on Nordette. I switched from Triphasil because the Triphasil was turning me into a bitch on wheels for 3 weeks out of the month. The mood swings are better with the Nordette but my drive is the same. I think I'll switch... again :)

*shrug* Don't take my word for it, definitely research it on your own, but I think it can be beneficial.

My sister had the same problem. She told her doctor about it, and the doctor gave her a special cream that is to be rubbed on before romance. My sister said it really worked....The cream has some kind of sex hormones in it.
