... pharmaceuticals, deliver me.

So, I'm in need of advice. Here's my scenario:

I have two days of great sex. Four times in those two days, which is a lot for me. Then I have to leave the boything, but I take a little something with me ... an itchy kitty.

At first I thought it was just that post-sex soreness, which I kind of enjoy, but seeing as my last sex was Tuesday night and now it's Saturday, I think that's not the culprit.

I used Desitin for a few days, which usually calms down rashes and itchiness, but that hasn't seemed to do much good. I'm mostly itchy around the entrance to my vagina, and maybe a little bit inside; not much on my labia or on the rest of my vulva. We used condoms, so I doubt it's anything STDish.

I'm going to call the doctor on Monday and try to get an appointment, but until then, I'd like your opinions on:

a) home remedies that might ease the itchiness;

b) what you think this might be. My first guess is bacterial vaginosis, which I've had before, but I'm no gyno.

Any input??

If it's anything yeasty (and even if it's not) you can try (I'm not kidding) dipping a tampon in plain yogurt and sticking it in. It cools and soothes. And do get checked out by a doc. Good luck.

What is Destin? I'd never heard of it and google doesn't seem to know either... Is it a yeast infection treatment or just one of those creams that supposed to ease vaginal itch? If it's the latter (or something else entirely) it won't cure a yeast infection, or BV.

If you're unsure if its BV or a yeast invasion, its very smart to see a doctor before you start treating so that you don't make it worse by guessing wrong.

In the interim, baths, a gentle moisturizer on non-mucous membrane parts and perhaps one of the OTC creams for vaginal itch would help ease the itch and soreness.

It's actually spelled Desitin. It's a baby rash treatment. Now that I think about it, it actually doesn't sound like a bad idea to use it. Baby bums are sensitive, so why shouldn't it work? I don't know about the itchiness, but it would definitely work on irritation.
