hi there
i haven't had a real period in about a year and the doctor gave me provera to take 3x a day for 3 days. my question is has anyone had experience with this and if so, do you know when the provera induces a period? is it after a day? after a week? any comments will be helpful, thanks

I hadn't had my period in over a year and a half, and I went to the doctor, and he gave me provera, I took a pill a day for 10 days, and I had my period about 6 days after I stopped taking the pills. My period lasted for nearly a whole week, my guess it was from not having it in such a long time. But if you still haven't had your period 10 days or maybe 2 weeks (not sure which), you need to tell your doctor. Hope everything works out for you!

thanks very much for the information. maybe my doc should've given me a pill a day versus 3 times a day. again, thank you =)
