What's the difference between orth-cyclen and orth-tri-cyclen?

Tri-cyclic pills like ortho-tricyclen have hormone doses that vary from week to week of acrive pills to more closely mimic the natural hormone cycle. Monophasic pills like orthocyclen have a consistent dose of hormones in the three weeks of active pills.

They're equally effective, but some women react better to the tricyclic pills than monophasic and vice-versa.
