so here i go off to the gyno for the first time all alone!! i'm actually glad mom isn't going with me, she said she "hated she couldn't go" but i didn't want her to go anyway, there's stuff i've done i don't want her to know about, you know? so anyway.. haven't had a period since April... so i'm hoping to get on birth control for the first time as well.. i had thought about doing that at school without my mom knowing, but it will probably be easier if she did know, ya know? then i wouldn't have to constantly worry about her finding out...

anyway, *crosses fingers* let's hear it for my stupid hormonal system for not fixing itself in *counts on fingers* almost seven years... *sigh*

i don't know, i think so :-( at least, they have to sign saying they're your parents... i don't know if you can ask the doctor to ask your parents to step out or not

yeah, and doc's are usually pretty good about making you feel comfortable.. i'm 18, and mom was at work, so she "couldn't" go with me.. i would have asked her to leave anyway... i'm pretty sure your doc would make her leave if it made you uncomfortable.

i am fifteen years old and i have been going to the gyno for two years now. the first time i went, i was going to get birth control. my mom went with me, but she doesn't have to. i have many friends that went as well (same time as me) but weren't accompanied by a parent because they were nervous. the only difference is that, with a parent, i had my mom sign for the insurance and we just had to pay a 10 dollar fee every time i go. if you go alone (under 18) and don't have insurance than you will have to pay 100+ dollars. also, all the information given in the office is confidential and won't be told to your parents. you have that choice.
