Instead...
Aug. 7th, 2002 06:05 pmI got my period yesterday, though it's very light right now. I've been out of birth control for 3 or so weeks, and don't have the money to buy any. Not only has this toyed slightly with my emotions, but it's throwing off my cycle. Of course. However, I'm not complaining right now simply because if it's here now, then it'll be gone by the 15th when I leave to spend 8 days in New Jersey, a couple of which will be beachside.
So... I have a question. Who uses Instead? I usually use OB tampons and regularly bleed through them, even in a couple of hours, so I usually wear at least a pantiliner with it. I would like to use Instead. I have some, but I'm having problems with it, and probably don't have it inserted properly. They talk about placing it against your pubic bone, but I cant' seem to do that. I put it in, it feels right, then it slips, and anything that would be inside the cup pours out onto whatever is closest, being the toilet, a pad, my underwear, the floor, whatever. What am I doing wrong? I know I'm not small, internally. I feel like I should be able to use this product but don't understand why I'm having such difficulty. Any help would be much appreciated.

Date: 2002-08-07 05:15 pm (UTC)I've used diaphragms in the past, so i think I've got the hang. Diaphragms go past the pubic bone and sort of sit *on* it, rather than up against it. Try to get it so that you can feel your cervix through it.
