I have a question.

I have been on birth control pills for a little over a year now. Before the Pill, my period was 4-5 days long, with the first 2-3 days VERY heavy flow. Also, the day before my period I started cramping, and the first day of my period the cramps would be almost unbearable if I didn't take Tylenol. Since being on the Pill, my periods have decreased significantly. I'm not talking a day, I'm talking like.. 2-3 days. My periods are now between 1 and 3 days, and the flow on the first day is very light compared to what it used to be. I was just wondering if this dramatic a change is normal. Also, I noticed that when I do bleed sometimes the discharge that comes out is a brownish color. If anyone has similar flows, or has any advice or anything, it would be appreciated!!

Very normal.

Before I went on the pill, I had cramps so bad, I would literally be incapacitated. To the point I had to take days off of work. It felt like I had the flu. My flow was so heavy, I had to wear "over night" pads as normal ones.

The first time I went on the pill, my cramps were gone and my flow went down considerably.

before the pill i used to have to wear tampons AND pads during the day... good to hear it's not anything to worry about! thanks for the reply!

i know a couple girls that are on it solely for the purpose of lessening cramps, flow, and to make them more regular. thanks!
