i started this morning, and per usual threw in a tampon.

now, i've been using tampons since i was 16 or 17, without a single problem.

until now.

i went to change, and i couldnt get the new one in. i even dug up an old slender one, and i couldnt even get that one in.

and it hurts to even *try*....

im about to have to go beg my sister for a pad if i cant get this to work(which sucks because i have to work tonight, and if this continues it really sucks cos im having a small pool party this weekend..)

any ideas on what could be causing this or how to remedy it?

the first thing that pops into mind is:

either you arent very far into your flow yet, so theres not very much lubrication down there, or you are too tensed up.

if you need to get a tampon in and theres no lubrication from enough blood, try lubricating with something else- either petroleum jelly or whatever gooey you have handy that wont harm you ;)....

if you're too tensed up, which it sounds like you're not because you've been using them since you were 16 and im assuming you know about that, then....just.....relax?

try getting into various positions to insert them. are you using tampax satin or a plastic applicator? if not, try those, because they are less painful to get in (less edges to catch skin on..)

good luck.....:
