Alright. so I'm nearing the third week in my first month of taking mircette.

Side effects, so far...nausia and cramping. Why am I taking the pill to begin with? To combat horrible cramping.

Ever day, about an hour after I take the pill, I get verily painful cramps for about two hours. Now, I'm curious...does this go away after the first month? Should I ask to switch pills/brands immediately?

I keep reasoning with myself that the cramping is because my body is trying to have it's normal functions at normal times and the pill is preventing that, so the cramping is just the pill telling my body it's wrong. but then, what do I know?

oh. and thank you so very much with my last question...! :)

Three months. I started birth control and thought I was going to throw up EVERY SINGLE NIGHT of those three months.

If you can, try and take your pill at night. That way, you can sleep through the worst part of the ill feelings.

Its important you wait three months so your body can get used to the medication, which does take around that time. If after three months you're still having the problem, then contact your doctor.

But, the good news is it does go away once your body has adjusted.

I dunno.. having been on mircette, I'm not too fond of it.

I waited four months, and the cramping did not go away at all.. it might be too weak for you, and thus your doc may put you on orthocept, the next strength up. It works pretty well for me.

Sorry dearie, but 3 months you must wait to see..
And hopefully your body won't hate mircette like mine did!

haha when i first went on the pill (Ortho Tri Cyclen for me) the first couple of months i gained a few pounds and my skin was a mess and i was an emotional wreck and my period was just as god-awful as it had ever been, and i was mad as hell, thinking jeez i can be fat and pimply and depressed and crampy for FREE, why am i paying 30 bucks a month for this shit? then i ended up going on celexa along with it, for the depression (cos it wasn't just the pill's fault, in my case), and then finally the OTC kicked in, and i was like, aaahh, lovely. anyway yeah...just gotta be patient. and if it keeps suckin', try a different kind.
