there are so many things i love about being female, but having cramps isn't one of them.
i'm reminded of a comment a friend made once (but i can't remember where, and haven't been able to find it) about someone blathering on about the wonderfulness of menstruation. at the time i laughed and said that person was an idiot... at the moment i am even less able than usual to understand why anyone would think this is wonderful.

Count me as idiot # 2

A few times, as an exercise of mind over matter, I "converted" my uterine cramping into really amazing orgasmic contractions.
I love getting my period, I have my best insights and dreams during that time.

i second that

Well, I did this while I was reading a lot of books about homebirthing and unassisted childbirth.
I remember that some of the authors would talk about these amazing birth orgasms because they just associated their cramps with pleasure instead of pain. When women orgasm they sometimes have "vaginal" orgasms...so, as my uterus was contracting to aid the release of my unused lining, I just breathed and told myself it felt good and it was a good release and I got very aroused and had a few contractions similar to orgasm...It is a mind over matter thing. I have not done it in a few years. But I believe it is possible.
