Well it's been about a month and a half since I got the depo shot.

My period started exactly 2 weeks after the shot, and is still here.
Will it never end!!!
It's been really light though, not even worth having a "diaper" for.

I hope my period ends soon. ugh....I should have gotten the patch. The nurse told me that I could have irregular periods for 2 of the shots I recieve. That's wonderful, I get to have a messed up flow for 6 months.

Anyone else who has gotten the depo shot, how long was your period irregular for when you first started getting the shots?

I got the depo shot in April and July and I haven't had a period ever since. However, the other side effects are driving me insane and I will not be getting any more shots after this one wears off.

I hate it.
i was due for my last one in early september, i was on it for two shots, and it has totally screwed up my bleeding schedule. At first it made me skip one period. I thought that was cool, since i didn't really want it. Then about a month before i was to go back in for my second shot, i started my period and it didn't stop until two days after i got my second shot. Then, i started again a week after my second shot. I haven't stopped bleeding, and i haven't even gone in to get my third, it is supposed to be wearing off!! Grrr at this.

I normally don't mind having my period, since it just comes with being a woman and i'd much rather me female than male if i had the choice. But this is just rediculous. I don't want to bleed months on end! Jeez. Anyway, lets hope that the bleeding is the only side affect you get from it.

I hope it works better for you than it did me.

(I also got very depressed when normally i am a very happy person, gained a bit of weight, and my hair is shedding at a much speedier rate than normal, which is also a potential side affect, and scares me a lot. i don't want to go bald!)

I first started Depo in December of '99, and I haven't had a period since then. I also haven't been able to lose any weight since then either. They (doctors) started me on it the morning after I gave birth to my daughter, and it caused me to not be able to breastfeed(dried up my milk before there really was any). Anywho, I guess not having a single period for that long a time is pretty irregular in and of itself. Although, I do always know when it's close to my time to get my shot, as I start cramping and spotting.
