I'm so excited i have my period! This is the first time i think i've EVER been excited...i mean, seriously, i cried the first time i ever had my period, i've known it was bad news since i was 12! But anyway here's why i'm happy to say hello to aunt flo:

I was on the depo shot since the beginning of february. I used to have very regular cycles, but when i got the shot i didn't bleed for about a month, then bled for the next two. I never had a regular period, just constant bleeding. I stupidly beleived the nurse who said the bleeding would go away with the second shot, and got the second. This time for about a month and a half i was bloodless, but then bled for the next two straight. I stopped depo and started ortho cyclen, to get back on my cycle, and sure enough, here is my good old period! Back after about a seven month absence!

The other reason i'm excited is that i (stupidly) had sex in that little window after the depo wore off and before i started the pill. Yes, i used a condom, but i'm paranoid! I found it ironic too that it was in that like 2 weeks in the whole 7 months that i was unprotected hormonally, since i rarely have sex( i'm a single girl ). The reason i was worried though was that the period showed up later than i expected, and i had dreams about having a baby. Like i said, i'm paranoid, but still! So its a good feeling to be back to normal and bleeding again!

I'm sure by the time the next one comes around i'll be pissed off at it again.

Does anyone else get the munchies when they get their period? I never noticed it before, so i'm thinking it may have something to do with the pills i'm on? But i just noticed that all i want is food, and it showed up the same time as i started bleeding! Coincidence?

i can sympathize...

i know how you feel. i was on the depo for five years. i don't think i ever had a real period while i was on it, just some spotting if i was too close the deadline for getting my next shot. from there, i bounced between ortho tri-cyclen, lunelle, and ortho cyclen, with another depo thrown in there somewhere. in mid-july, i started spotting constantly. like for three weeks, maybe i was going to bleed on any given day, and maybe i wasn't. i eventually got fed up and just stopped taking my pills altogether. i stopped spotting in the middle of august, and lo and behold, last friday, i had a period, and tuesday, i stopped bleeding. i was really relieved that my body remembered how to do this by itself, after not doing it for such a long time. well, that's just me running my mouth about things. thanks for listening!

Munchies

I totally get the munchies every time my period comes along. I just want to eat and eat and eat. So, I usually stuff myself full of celery and popcorn. And I eat tons of chocolate - which is bad for me generally (I'm fibrocystic) but I allow myself small amounts during my flow week. :-)

I get the munchies BIG time for about four days before I flow. Hate that!!!

I'm a little nervous... my daughter is 9 and a half. I'm freaking a little about the idea that within a few years (yeah I freak over stupid stuff... I'm premenstrual by the way) she's going to be starting her own cycle. Can she really grow up this fast?
