well i was on my 3rd sugar pill with no signs of period, besides my breasts were sore a few days before...so, my SO fucked it out of me (sorry for the language.."sexed" it out of me?) anyway, after sex and fingering, it came last night. lol. i wasn't worried but it came early last month, while i was still on the hormone pills, because i had a pap smear and he poked it out i guess lol. plus i just wanted it to come and get over with as usual lol.

anyone ever done that? had sex to get a period? or masterbated? i heard that works well..i usually try the tea a lot...not parsley..just any kind (they say parsley but really its just liquid to go through your body...even water..but warm is better to make it come apparently)...

also i've been reading the vagina monologues. great book!

hmm..i just moved here and the pharmacist said i was on the lowest dose of birth control (Alesse 28)...i know this isn't a birth control community, and if no one knows, that's okay..but does that mean it's any less effective?? just wondering. i'm sure it's not and i dont drink, smoke, or anything and i never miss a day...usually i start my next pack early (pharmacist said it was perfectly fine and i could skip periods altogether if i like...i prefer to have it though....)...so...i think my question trailed off and i'm going to end this.

hope this helps!

birth control pills are generally *not* effective for inducing menstrual periods, because they contain a tiny bit more progesterone than estrogen. Progesterone acts to thin the lining of the uterus, making periods lighter, or, in some cases, making them completely disappear. Therefore, if a woman already has absent periods, taking the pill will probably not rectify the problem. In some cases the pill *will* cause bleeding, but because both estrogen and progesterone are present, your doctor would not be able to determine the cause of the missing periods, so he or she could not advise you on how to prevent it from happening again. Therefore, my partners and I do not use the pill to diagnose amenorrhea. It *is* used for treatment, but only after the diagnosis is made.

The treatment of amenorrhea, the medical term for absent periods, is to perform a thorough history and physical examination, then obtain a set of blood tests. Depending on the result of these tests, one or more hormone pills are taken. This usually induces a period. If not, more blood tests that are even more specialized are performed, until the cause is determined.

To my knowledge, and I'm no doctor so you might look at your drug information (with the Pill) or check this online, the lower dose does *not* mean it's any less effective as a medicine for birth control. What it *does* probably mean is that you have to be a lot more careful with taking every dose, at the same time, and being extra careful not to take interfering medicines with it. However, I'm no expert--this just gleaned from little bits I've read here and there.

Btw, on the parsley tea thing: I've read that it does have some pseudohormones in it that might trigger menstruation. I've used it twice; once it stimulated the period, once it didn't. Both times it gave me cramps. Go figure

on another subject...

the part about sex (specifically, an orgasm) inducing your period is pretty much true. it works for the same reason that makes sex a wonderful solution for cramps. it's mostly because of the muscle contractions that are the physical results of an orgasm. when your whole body is caught in what is essentially one big spasm, your uterus contracts and voila! period!
