Oct. 8th, 2002 09:56 amPlease!
I'm writing a feature article for a journalism class, and I need some input:
For men and women:
1) How does wearing a condom make you feel?
2) What kinds of protection do you use (i.e. condoms, spermicide, the pill, etc.)
For women on the pill, depo, norplant, etc:
1) What were your initial reasons for choosing that particular form of birth control?
2) What side affects have you notcied since being on this birth control?
3) How long have you been on it?
* Please include your first and last name in the responses, as this is an article, and I need last names for source identification. *
Thank you!

Date: 2002-10-08 10:20 am (UTC)I don't mind "female condoms" -- I like how they warm up, and the way they move. They're actually a bit arousing. I don't mind "male condoms" but I'd prefer not to need to use them. I can really tell there's a layer between me and the other person, and they feel very non-spontaneous.
2) What kinds of protection do you use (i.e. condoms, spermicide, the pill, etc.)
Condoms -- usually male, occasionally female.

Date: 2002-10-08 10:34 am (UTC)1) How does wearing a condom make you feel? Generally, I dont notice a major difference between having him wear one or not. Being as so I'm not the most sexually experianced individual on the face of the earth, I dont know if my imput matters. However, I'd prefer with, simply because of the mentality factor. I feel slightly more safe with him wearing one.
2) What kinds of protection do you use (i.e. condoms, spermicide, the pill, etc.)Condoms, spermicide.

Date: 2002-10-08 11:39 am (UTC)1) How does wearing a condom make you feel? I don't wear one but when my SO does, it feels gross and almost plasticy. it really takes away from the feeling.
2) What kinds of protection do you use (i.e. condoms, spermicide, the pill, etc.) Condoms with spermicide, Birth Control Pill.
For women on the pill, depo, norplant, etc:
1) What were your initial reasons for choosing that particular form of birth control? To regulate my period, and help with cramps.
2) What side affects have you notcied since being on this birth control? I went off Triphasil because I had bad migraines with auras. I am now on Alesse 28 and I haven't had any problems so far.
3) How long have you been on it? I have been on the pill for about 2 years.

Date: 2002-10-08 05:41 pm (UTC)2.) I personally was on the pill (I'm currently taking a hiatus due to problems scheduling with my OBGYN) and insisted that my partner used a condom.
1.) I was on the pill and will go back on the pill once I see my OBGYN again. (Ortho-Novum 28/35). My reasons were that (at the time) I could go to Planned Parenthood and get it without parental permission (I was 17 at the time), it was cheap and I'm not too trusting of the other methods yet.
2.) Side effects - none for me.
3.) I have been on BC for almost 6 years.
