Oct. 8th, 2002 05:00 pmokay, i have two off-topic questions.
1. my nipples and the area around them are dry, itchy, cracked, and peeling. no, i'm not breastfeeding, and no, i have not been wearing any scratchy materials or rubbing them a lot. it seems to be random. what can i do to prevent this in the future, and make sure i don't get mastitis or something?
2. how big are inner labia supposed to be? mine are huge. they droop down almost an inch past the outer labia. they get tangled in my clothing. they rub an awful lot, and then the skin gets rough and dry. it's annoying.
thankyou.

As far as your inner labia... there's no real "supposed to be" size for any of it. Besides, even if there was, what would you do about it? If you could decide for them to be a lot smaller, it sounds like you would. I don't think there's anything wrong with you. Just, be careful with them.

Date: 2002-10-08 05:38 pm (UTC)i had the same confusion about my labia minora (i thought they should be smaller, right???). You are totally normal. For you. :D
Make sure you keep yourself dry and clean (that helps with the chafing). Make sure your undies fit well - i have found that cotton panties (or liners at least) feel best for me long-term, but that is my humble opinion. :D
As for your nipples, be gentle with them. Try avoiding soap on your breasts/nipples (they'll get plenty clean with just water). A mild cream may help, too. If they don't get better, you should check with your doctor.
blessings!
