anyone here on ortho-novum 777? planned parenthood no longer carries loestrin (the bcp i have been on since february) and they switched me to ortho-novum 777. they said they were the most similar of all the pills. just wondering if anyone else takes them and if it's possible i can take 2 months at a time (which is what i was doing with loestrin).

thanks.

I use ortho-novum 777, and what I've read is that you start taking the pills on the Sunday after your last period. But I usually just start them on a sunday, but you really don't have to.

As for taking two months at a time, I wouldn't suggest doing so, unless they directed you to do so.

I haven't been on either of those two pills, but I did some checking for you on this website which has information about the pill formations. It looks like the levels of estrogen and progestin are slightly different in the two pills; it's probably fine to take two months at a time, but when you first start out, I'd say give yourself three months to settle into the side effects and see how you respond before you start doing that. Just make sure that the pill agrees with you, know what your period is normally like on that pill before you start changing things.
